Colorism & Algorithm Bias

This research paper explores the intersection of colorism and algorithmic bias, highlighting how modern artificial intelligence systems can perpetuate harmful stereotypes and systemic inequalities. Especially against people with darker skin tones. Drawing from real-world examples like facial recognition technology and biased datasets, I investigate in this paper the roots of skin tone discrimination and call for more inclusive design practices in tech. As an aspiring experience architect, I emphasize the critical role of ethical design, diverse user research, and inclusive data in shaping a fairer digital future.
